Organizations as Application Service Providers
As part of the Moving to an Enterprise Informatics Model series, the Oregon Chapter of HIMSS will host a panel featuring leaders from Portland area health systems discussing delivery organizations as application service providers.
Today, many large provider organizations are deploying their EHR instances to outside organizations through affiliate agreements and other legal structures, such as Epic’s “Community Connect.” While this model can provide cost savings and a more complete patient record, it also produces unique planning, support and governance challenges which impact IT teams, Informaticists – and often more broadly throughout the host and affiliate sites.
Join colleagues from Oregon and Southern Washington as experts share insights and lessons learned from their organizations’ experiences as software and service providers. A Q&A session will follow.
The forum is open to HIMSS members, guests, and all those interested in learning about the changing role of informatics and health IT professionals.
